Getting Help With Your Basement

White River Waterproofing is an independent information and contractor-referral service. We don’t do waterproofing work, and we aren’t taking service requests in the Anderson area yet, so there’s no request form on this site. How this site works.

If water is coming in now

Follow the first-hour checklist. If the floor drain is backing up during a storm, read sewer backup or groundwater? before you clean up.

Choosing a contractor in the meantime

  1. Match the symptom first. Water at the floor-wall joint, water through the floor and a backing-up floor drain need different fixes. Start with what you see.
  2. Know the price ranges so you can read quotes with confidence: the cost page has them, with sources.
  3. Get at least two inspections. Ask each contractor where the water is coming from, what proves it, and why their fix addresses that source.
  4. Ask how the system handles Anderson’s water table: full perimeter or partial, pump size, and what happens when the power goes out.
  5. Get the scope in writing, including the walls covered, the pump model, the discharge route and the warranty terms.
  6. Ask about permits for electrical, plumbing or sewer work. A good contractor handles them.
